About

About the Artist

I am a Melbourne based sculptor and painter, experienced in, and continually experimenting with many mediums, including oil, pastel, acrylic, wax, clay, steel and bronze. Painting has been an integral part of my life since early childhood. My professional training since includes 2 years studying with well-respected Australian sculptor Victor Kalinowski, from 1996-1998. Following that I trained for 3 years at Bayside Sculpture with celebrated sculptor, Gael O’Leary, and have a number of tertiary level art qualifications.

I enjoy regularly exhibiting my work in solo and group exhibitions. I have also been fortunate to receive recognition for my work through the award of prizes, as well as gaining private and public commissions including in 2013, The Storyteller, a large bronze sculpture (forecourt at Collins Place, 35 Collins St Melbourne) commissioned by AMP.

My artistic style is to depict the human form in a simplified, pared back style. The results are refined, highly stylised works that reflect the essence of the subject portrayed. I like to suggest but never define. The eye and mind of the viewer then has the pleasure of filling in what is not represented.

I am available to discuss commissions and happy show you my work in progress in my studio space.
